ITunes is for purchasing songs, albums and mvs. It reflects on iTunes countries’ singles, album and mv charts that give points for WW and Europe iTunes charts that give points for Billboard 200, HOT100, Global and US Excluded charts.

Europe and Worldwide charts count points based on countries charts. Countries are divided in 4 tiers that have different value on charts.

Tier1 purchases are the most valuable and includes Europe continent countries like UK and Germany.

Tier2 Europe countries are France, Italy, Russia.

Tier3 Europe countries are Belgium, Switzerland, Spain, Ireland, Netherlands and Turkey.

Singles and Album Certification in UK

When the release has reached the appropriate level of sales as measured by the Official Charts Company, titles are now 'automatically certified' by the BPI.

Streams now count towards both album and singles certifications and are measured as per the chart eligibility rules set out by the Official Charts Company.

How streams are counted?

Singles:

New releases will have a streaming ratio applied to them in order to calculate the number of streams equivalent to a sale. The ratio used will depend on the age of the release and whether the listener streamed the track or album using a premium or an ad funded (free) service.

Standard Chart Ratios (SCR) - New releases will have a streaming to sales ratio of 100:1 (in the case of premium streams) or 600:1 (in the case of ad funded streams) applied.

Accelerated Chart Ratios (ACR) - After 3 consecutive weeks of decline a stream to sale ratio of 200:1 (in the case of premium streams) or 1200:1 (in the case of ad funded streams) will be applied.

Automatic Resets: A track within the Top 100 on Accelerated Chart Ratios (ACR) which is within 3 years of release can automatically return to Standard Chart Ratios (SCR) if its streams total increases by 25% greater than the streaming market change week on week.

Album:

The 2 album tracks with the most streams are neutralised to the level of the average of the next 10 most streamed tracks on the album.

The streams of the top 12 tracks (or all tracks if an album has fewer than 12 tracks) are aggregated together and converted using a ratio of 1,000 streams = 1 album sale.

BILLBOARD GLOBAL 200 CHART

Worldwide songs inclusive Billboard chart.

Chart calculates Worldwide Streams and Download Sales.

Only official streams and sales from platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer etc. are counted.

Billboard Global US Excluded chart focuses on all countries streams and sales outside United States.

Chart calculates Worldwide(except for US) Streams and Download Sales.

Only official streams and sales from platforms like Spotify, iTunes, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Deezer etc. are counted.

BILLBOARD 200 CHART

Billboard combines pure sales, TEA and SEA to calculate the ranking.

Pure sales - are counted from United States digital sales, Europe ATINY can’t reflect to it until you have an account created and registered in US.

Track Equivalent Album (TEA) - 10 digital tracks = 1 album/unit sale.

Stream Equivalent Album (SEA) - 1,250 streams from a premium stream or 3,750 streams from an ad supported stream

Thus, 1,250 premium streams or 3,750 free streams from the same album is equivalent to 1 album unit.

SPS means sales plus streaming. It is a common way to express ‘units’ (pure, TEA and SEA all together). SPS total is counted starting from the album’s release date.

CHART TRACKING - SALES & STREAMS are tracked Friday-Thursday
